This is an excellent seminar for all collection department staff and lenders regardless of your longevity in the business. The first part of the seminar will cover basic fundamentals of telephone collection. The second part of the seminar will deal with the Fair Debt Collection Practice Act and how to improve your collection department.
The October 20 Community Bank Directors’ College will continue the seven-year tradition of small group workshops on issues of interest to bank directors. While past Directors Colleges have been offered in cooperation with the FDIC, this year the agency’s resources were needed elsewhere and we planned the program using the workshop option but with a broader focus on non-regulatory topics.
The conference will begin with a keynote address by bank finance consultant Jim Clarke. Attendees will then select one of four workshops to attend during each of the next two hours. Participants will return to the general session for an economic update by Paul Driscoll of the FDIC, followed by lunch and adjournment.
This Directors’ College is designed for outside directors and trustees, and senior officers can also benefit from the workshops.
This year participants are not required to register in advance for specific breakout sessions. They will choose which workshops they wish to attend when they arrive at the program. Information will be provided on each workshop.
Both general and ethics CLE credits have been applied for, and certificates of attendance for the Maine State Board of Accountancy will also be available
